Why dryer vents here get installed twice

Cap choice matters on the coast. Screened caps trap damp lint from marine-layer air and pack it solid. Unscreened caps let birds nest. A damper hood with a proper flap is the middle ground.

Ask to see the termination after work. Lint at the hood means the job is not finished.
